// Week 22 - Ten Fake Subtitles
Over the years in visual blogs I have seen movie stills with the subtitles included. I always liked these images but it wasn’t because the still from the movie normally made a good photograph but there was something I liked about the juxtaposition of the subtitle with the image, I liked it even more if the content of the subtitle was out of context. This in some ways gives the image a new meaning and makes you think about the image in a different way. So for this weeks piece I decided to make my own ‘fake’ subtitled movie stills. I used my own photography and superimposed a subtitle on top. The subtitles came either straight from the top of my head randomly or I used text from books/movies. I spent a while trying to get an old, bad quality TV look using photoshop but everything I tried wasn’t quite right - too sharp and crisp. Then I displayed the image on my monitor at a small size and photographed it with a phone camera - this gave me the look I wanted, grainy, distorted and blurred.

// Week 21 - Lubitel 166 again
This week I had another play with the Lubitel 166. Taking photos along a walk in Salisbury and on the way to the processing lab. This was one my favorites. Still learning lots on that camera though, need to judge light better. You can see more Lubitel photos here.
// Week 20 - F*cked film
The twentieth week and another trip to the woods with my camera however this roll of film taken with a Diana Mini went very wrong at the processing lab. I’m not sure what they did exactly but they did tell me they screwed it up. The images were ‘crushed’ I had to stretch them back out using photoshop. I won’t be taking any film there in the future but I did find something interesting about the results. More from the film can be seen here.
// Week 19. TTV
Week 19, This week I’ve been messing about with an iPhone app. I don’t normally use my iPhone for photos other than family/pet/party pictures but I’ve played with the real TTV before (Through the Viewfinder) and I was intrigued by this app. I didn’t like the results as much as the real deal but it was fun all the same.

// Week 18. Wolfman
Week 18 was kind of failed experiment, I wanted to take a self portrait/long exposure at the bottom of my garden where tucked away there is an armchair and broken TV. It failed because I didn’t prepare properly and I couldn’t get the focus/sharpness I wanted. However I’ve learnt how to do it better next time.
// Week 17. Woods
Week 17, I took my Diana mini out with me while going on a mushroom picking trip in the New Forest, Hampshire. Although I did take some standard one exposure shots, mostly I experimented with taking double exposures without fully winding on the film, creating overlapping photos.

// Week 16. Halloween Party - Laura
For week 16, I was hosting a Halloween party and got the idea of taking a photo of everyone as they arrived. Laura is just one of nineteen pictures, you can see the rest here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pixeldaddy/sets/72157627098475773/
// Week 14. Lubitel 166 Universal
A kind chap gave me an old retro lomo camera (something I enjoy collecting) so for week fourteen I took out an early 1980’s soviet made twin lens Lubitel and shot a roll of film with it. This is my favorite picture from the bunch. The rest can be seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pixeldaddy/sets/72157627907986534/with/6250868856/
